delete tag suggestions in Annotator Tool

Sometimes I aktually spel something incorrectly when I am creating a tag to add to a Page Note or Annotation in the Annotator Tool and worse, somehow these failed attempts keep showing up when I want to add the correctly spelled, new and improved tag. For example, I wanted to tag a Page Note as [[Avatamsaka Sūtra]] and began typing without capitalizing as far as [[avata]]. Now whenever I want to tag something as [[Avatamasaka Sūtra]] both [[avata]] and [[Avatamasaka Sūtra]] tags display. The [[avata]] tag is not associated with any notes and I would very much like to remove it from the list of tags that are offered as I type. Where do these tags live? These unused tags do not show up in the Tags Pane so I can't delete them there. Does anyone know how to edit/delete these unwanted tags? The illustration also shows [[ancestors]] as well as ancestors (without the brackets). Don't want both....
