[Feature Request] select non-adjacent text

Open IBzerbasteln opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

I would love to see something implemented that allows some form of multi-selection for text. It happens relatively often to me that I want to highlight a sentence that starts on the bottom of one page and then continues on the next one, for example. If I'm not overlooking anything, the current version of the plugin would require me to make this two different annotations. Adding some multi-select feature (like holding CTRL and then selecting different words or sentences that are not adjacent) would be really helpful I think!

Bump. Selecting a sentence starting at the end of the first page and ending on the second page is not possible right now.

My workaround: I now create PDFs at arbitrary sizes so that there's no page break. Usually I can get away with printing to pages of length 25, 50, 75, 100 inches. For my last PDF, I created a page size of 1500 inches (yes, 1500 instead of 11).

I'd like this too. Though I'm not sure if this plugin or the actual Hypothes.is client it uses (https://github.com/hypothesis/client) is the right place to fix it.

I'd also love for this to work. Multi-page highlights are not possible at the moment.

I was about to open an issue for this as well but then found this train of issues relating to the page break thing. I'd love for this to work properly as well!
