Stuck for a while in 99.5% while caching
Hi. Once in a while when I pick a movie/tvshow for watching, Elementum starts downloading (caching?) the movie and it gets stuck at 99.5%. It stays there for a long time, usually around a minute or two, slowly download the remaining 0.5% that it needs to download in order to start playing the movie. Sometimes it even timeout before getting to 100%. Anybody else seen this kind of behavior? Is there anything I can do to avoid this from happening? This is happening to me on Kodi 18.6 (LibreELEC 9.2.1) running on a Raspberry Pi 3B+. I'm always on the latest Elementum and this has been happening at least for the last 6 months. Thanks a bunch.
Cheers
@john3voltas reproduce and make a log - http://elementum.surge.sh/contribute/log/#easy-one
@john3voltas is it happening to you with 0.1.60-61?
Hi @elgatito . No, not any longer. Actually, it stopped giving me those issues a couple of months ago.
Hi @elgatito . This has been happening a lot to me lately, but only with TV shows. I'm on a FireTV stick Max running Kodi Nexus 20.2, TMDBHelper+Elementum.
As stated this is only happening with TV Shows, specifically TV Shows that come with all episodes in the same torrent file. After watching an episode, I simply click on the next episode in the list, Kodi starts caching the Torrent and gets stuck at around 99,70%. Sometimes it ends up reaching 100% but most of the times it times out before reaching 100%.
I will drop by tomorrow to leave a log.
Gosh, I was about to grab the logs using theses instructions http://elementum.surge.sh/contribute/log/#easy-one when all of a sudden Kodi crashed while trying to upload to pastebin... Gonna have to try again in the morning. Cheers
@rdscorreia74 i would suggest to open a new issue for that, or at least re-open this one.
So, it just happened again. This time I could upload the log. It can be found in https://paste.kodi.tv/arohuzanet . Hope you can help me.
i can see those stuck Buffer. Pr: 99%,
.
but you use DownloadStorage: Memory
- so you would need to wait for elgatito to take a look.
(btw, using Memory is bad for torrenting ecosystem/culture in my opinion, by not keeping files you contribute to death of torrents. vast majority of old torrents are already dead. although nowadays nobody cares about future of piracy :-) )
@rdscorreia74 I don't think you can do anything about it. Elementum itself is not downloading anything. Instead - it asks libtorrent library to download specific parts of the torrent. And that percentage is showing percentage of received pieces that we expect from libtorrent library. I also see issues sometimes when there are many peers but it struggles to download one or few pieces and you need to stop and start again. Currently, Elementum is using pretty old version of libtorrent, that does not get updates/fixes, so there is no chance to get a fix for such issues.
