Hi @mpm896, thanks for your interest in napari-imagej! This issue comes from an ongoing problem with interactive mode (_i.e._ having both the Python REPL and ImageJ GUI active) on macOS...
As a consumer I find image outputs that haven't had their contrast auto adjusted to be _really_ annoying. Without fail my first action is to call up the auto contrast...
