adding dark theme feature

Problem

adding a night mode feature in the mainpage will be beneficial to the user

Proposal

i can add a animated or normal slider for changing the dark and light modes of the page

There have been a few half finished attempts (see #2192) at getting this done so it is definitely on the radar. The preferred method of handling this would be to first read the browser's settings with prefer-dark but including a spcific toggle would not be a bad idea.

If you would like to try resurrecting one of the old branches you might have an easier time than starting from scratch if you would like to contribute 👍
