Application not using HW video decoding

Installed Juno with latest patches, vaapi et al. and in videos no acceleration is used. When I switch to VLC and configure it to use VA-API everything works perfectly.

Can we expect at some point support for HW accelerated video playback that support VA-API, VDPAU or whatever else is supported by the OS.

I have generic laptop with dual video card Intel HD Haswell mobile/ Nvidia GT745M
