Wallpaper thumbnails show as blank/white

re: If you're willing, subscribe to that bug report and add more details (computer model, graphics card information) so that someone can help address the bug. Also, does this bug recur even after restarting your computer?

yes, the problem persists through reboot :/ i am running an Acer Aspire E5 notebook, i believe it is running off of the intel iGPU but i'm not sure. I have attached the output from lshw & lspci; if you need any more info let me know :)
