I cannot reproduce the issue. Can you please run switchboard from the command line and print the messages which come up on the command line when you are doing this??

What is your wireless card? What is your Android device? Could it be that one only has 5GHz support and the other 2.4 GHz support so they can't see each other?

Your Centrino seems to be indeed dual-band.
For some reason, I can't seem to be able to get a hotspot on Loki, but my install is 7 months old already, so I haven't installed a fresh Loki stable.
Can you confirm that you are running on a fresh Loki stable (released 2 weeks ago) install yourself?

I cannot confirm this on a fresh Loki on Thinkpad S440 with a Nexus 7.
You'll have to investigate this a bit more. I'm gonna mark it as "new" for now.

Fully patched Juno here, hotspot does not work for me. I couldn't see the hotspot Wi-Fi from my iPad.
The config dialog was also super glitchy (at some point it only showed up when I was disabling hotspot), maybe this is related to the bug? I have two ethernet adapters (one of them connected) and one Wi-Fi adapter, all on the same mainboard.
