Not showing proper state of wifi when softblocked by network manager
Prerequisites
- [x] I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
Describe the bug
page goes all surreal and nonsensical when wifi is softblocked by network manager. It shows "Cable unplugged" on Wifi. Had a good laugh, ngl :)
If applicable, add screenshots or screen recordings to help explain your problem.
To Reproduce
I think an update did that, although I'm not sure.
Expected behavior
There should have been a switch to unblock wifi.
Workaround
run nmcli r wifi on and everything should be done.

Platform Information

- [ ] I'm using the latest version from git that I've manually compiled
- [x] I'm using the latest released stable version
Mine shows cable unplugged on wifi - even if not soft-blocked (checked with rfkill list).
- [x] I'm using the latest released stable version
My wifi would connect on boot then get cut, with unplugged status after a while. If I try to switch to another network when connected, it would again resolve to cable unplugged leaving no option but to reboot again.
Pretty sure all was good before I updated. (standard apt-get and app-center system ones)
My workaround, for now, is to install wicd and use that. Wifi status in menu-bar is still broken though :(

you can see in wicd, that I'm connected to orange_ivory network just fine.
Let me know if I can provide any logs, output if it helps to diagnose this issue.
