Schema incompatibility dialog should offer to solve the problem
If my library is using an old schema version number, I get this technical warning dialog that doesn't actually help me to solve the problem.
Instead of just "OK" we should offer a solution. My suggestions for the dialog is as follows:
Your photo library can't be read
The photo database was created by a newer version of %AppName than the one that is currently installed. Please check for updates.
[ Cancel ] [ Check for Updates ]

This should only happen if you are testing a dev version up here, but yes it should be more helpful.
