Launching library while viewer is open confuses dock icons
To reproduce:
View an image on the file system
Now launch pantheon-photos from the main .desktop
Observe all instances of pantheon-photos get the dock entry with the icon multimedia-photo-viewer instead of multimedia-photo-manager

Not fixed, you're thinking of the bug where both desktop's had the same icon name. They now have different icon names but will still share launchers depending on who was launched first. See the instructions in this bug for how to reproduce it.
