How to share photos via email with this app.

Open redcrate opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

I do see methods for sharing photos using plug-ins for various online services like Facebook, Flickr, Google and others, none of whom I would ever wish to share one of my photos with, but to each their own I guess.

So, how does a person send a photo to an email recipient from within the app?

What would you expect the behavior to be?

In my mind you would select one or more photos, somewhere be able to click a 'Share via email' option and it would open Mail, or whatever mail application I have set as my default.

An excellent question, I assume this would be just another plug-in, though what you suggest sounds like a good start.

Perhaps one would have more options available after choosing to 'Share via email,' such as creating some kind of limit or to perform conversions on the shared image(s) and then hand off Mail.

For instance, one such limitation could be the 'size' of the attached image, as many mail servers seem to impose restrictions on that to around 25MB (some even 10MB!?!>!).

Another option might be to convert the image from its native format to another format (JPG, PNG, etc.) that is more sensible for sharing via email.

Perhaps another option would be to choose to send multiple images as a single email with a list of attachemnts or each image individually via multiple email messages to work around the per-email server size restrictions.

I'm sure there are other options that would be very useful if anyone has more suggestions.
