Single items cannot be drag out of the library view

Open elementaryBot opened this issue 8 years ago • 4 comments

It's just that.

It appears to be broken since single-click was added (by a good-hearted-but-unaware-of-this-feature developer) in rev. 2865. It does not work only when you try to drag item out of the Checkerboard view (the single-photo view is still ok).

Just to add some further clarification: the issue seems to appear only if no item is selected; if an item is already selected, you can drag that item or any other out.

This behavior seems to be default, I mean, the one existing before single-click was introduced.

I'm referring to the possibility of dragging an item out only if it's previously selected. Is not that what we want?

If that's the case, then this bug should be marked as invalid.

No this is definitely a bug. You should be able to perform drag and drop operations without having to make a selection first

I’m not sure if this is the same bug or a different one (feels like the same one) but when I:

  1. Double-click on an image in Files to open it in Photos
  2. Drag that image from Photos to Epiphany

The drag and drop does not work (nothing happens).

(I also cannot drag an image from Files into Epiphany to perform an upload. Opened an issue for that here: https://github.com/elementary/files/issues/1525)

The cumulative effect seems to be that you cannot drag and drop to add attachments to messages you’re composing on the web when using the default curated apps (Files, Photos, and Epiphany).
