Error: Unable to create data directory

This happened to me when trying to opening a photo -- see details in attachments. The photo was opened, though.

Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce the issue. I've recently installed elementary, that's the only special thing that I'm able to highlight.

OS: elementary OS 0.3.2 Freya 64-bit
