sometimes cycle does not get updated past queue

Sometimes the cycle gets stuck on the queue status, and does not get updated past it. I have a hunch this is with the mongodb queue thing we have going not sending the start signal fast enough. And then all other status updates failing because it's still at the queue stage.

This should be less of an issue now. It will never be fully solved unless we dig down into the mongodb worker queue code, but it should be considerably harder to trigger now.

Hi! I was just looking backward through the "Bitesize" issues from linked from the Get Involved page on the Elementary Website.

I lack pretty much all context jumping in here, but between the "It will never be fully solved", and the big notice on the README that this is legacy code, do you think this still counts as a first-time-contributor-friendly issue?
