Problem

elementary OS needs a easy and solid way to record screens. Existing software is quite buggy, old or very complicated. One overview: https://itsfoss.com/best-linux-screen-recorders/ A great elementary OS specific app ScreenRec was abandoned due to Flatpak limitations. It also seems to freeze up after long recordings. Ubuntu now supports this out of the box with 22.04, see: https://linuxhint.com/methods-take-screenshots-ubuntu/

Proposal

I think therefore that elementary OS should have something build in for screen recording.

Maybe it should be merged into elementary OS's Screenshot, but that's confusing name wise.
