App freezes very frequently when iPhone is connected

I noticed that the app is very slow (even unresponsive) when I browse data on iPhone connected via USB.

Issues I noticed:

• when opening Files with iPhone being connected to the computer, it took about 10 seconds to show up. Even though the app opens my home folder (not iPhone contents) it took a noticeable amount of time for the app to open, and the cursor was in the loading state during the wait period.
• when browsing through iPhone directories the app frequently freezes (it cannot be moved, etc.- it just stops). The UI is blocked, probably because it is waiting for the data to load on the UI thread (should be backround thread?). The good thing is that the app eventually continues to work. However, it should not freeze.
• resizing the window with a lot of photos is veeeery laggy (reminds me of macOS, which is famous ofhaving laggy resize behviour :D). I'm not sure if this problem occurs for every folder that contains many files, or is it just when browsing through iPhone contents

Additional observation - if there are 2 instances of the app open (2 windows), and one of them freezes - the other window is frozen as well.
