Shadows from some apps in the dock can overlap windows

What Happened

I have my dock set to never autohide, and I have my dock icon size set to medium. It appears that some apps have larger icons than others, and their shadows can extend beyond the space for the dock and onto the space for windows.

Expected Behavior

Ideally, there would be a maximum size an icon can be, and a maximum extent its shadow can be so that it does not overlap other workspace elements.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set dock to always shown
  2. Install some apps like Bitwarden and Discord from Flathub
  3. Observe the behaviour of their icons in the dock
