Project-wide find/replace

Open cassidyjames opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

A feature I use a lot in Atom (and I believe exists in Sublime and most IDEs) is project-wide find and replace. Typically I see it triggered with a right-click on the project/folder name in the sidebar but I could also see a check box in the existing find UI.

Results in Atom show up as a tab in the editor area, but I'm not sure what the best design for that would be.

The Ctrl-Shift-F keyboard shortcut makes sense as a logical extension of the existing Find/Replace affordance.

Project-wide find is already implemented with Ctrl-Shift-F so we now need to extend that to replace. Global find locates matches in unopened files. To implement global replace I guess all modified files would have to be opened first so changes can be undone or monitored if required.

There is no current separate shortcut for Replace
