Week Number can be hidden, but can't be revealed

Open dahenson opened this issue 6 years ago • 4 comments

I right-clicked on the week numbers on the left side of the calendar grid. There is a menu option to "Hide Week Numbers". After clicking this menu option, the week numbers slide out of view. Now I can't get them back.

This looks to be an older feature that had the show/hide option removed at one point, but the functionality is still there. The only way I can find to bring the week numbers back is to open up dconf editor and change the appropriate setting.

You then have two ways to reveal it again:

  • Right click on the Weekday name on the top
  • Directly in the Date & Time plug in switchboard That's the issue with the left pane being actually hidden but heh, we probably need something to inform the user (a Granite.Widgets.Toast directly into the app?)

I had to look through the code to find that right clicking on the days was a possible approach. Should it also be an option behind the gear button? A bit like Terminal and Code.

I expected it to show up in the gear button. @tintou thanks for the tip about clicking on the weekdays, but that seems like the wrong spot to have an option for week numbers. I feel like this needs a little more design. I'm an old person and I need help finding these options sometimes :+1:

@elementary/ux Given the fact that the gear menu is used to manage calendars, where would be an appropriate place to toggle this setting?
