Video call between android phone and iPhone

Video call between android Riot client and iPhone does not work. Also on this thread https://github.com/vector-im/riot-ios/issues/2904

there seem to be many different ways for calls between Android and iOS to fall. See my comment in #2897. Do you get this error message, one way audio, or some other failure mode?
