Delete automatically messages after period of time (7 or 30 days)
It would be nice to have in Element X the same feature as in Whatsapp : To have the option for a chosen discussion to delete automatically the messages after a period of time (7 or 30 days for instance).
Element x is instant messaging, we do not need to keep all the history of messages . Auto deleting allows to avoid the conversation to be messy, avoid to store useless data, and also helps protecting privacy. Thank you
The Matrix protocol indeed does already have this feature, however it works in a way were it also deletes the encrypted content on the server, but as of right now we do not support it on EX, but is something we will probably have in the future.
Are we talking about of archiving/deleting the content locally or also on the server? Since the Matrix protocol only support the latter.
