Reactions to messages should cause a notification
Your use case
What would you like to do?
Currently, one can turn on notifications for group chat messages, direct messages, and mentions. However, if somebody reacts to a message, no notification is triggered. It would be nice if one could also turn on notifications for reactions.
Why would you like to do it?
Because otherwise, one only sees reactions after opening the respective chat and seeing them. If somebody reacts to a message not located on the screen anymore, one would have to scroll and search – and most probably, one misses the reaction.
How would you like to achieve it?
By adding another settings switch for enabling notifications on reactions.

Interestingly, https://github.com/element-hq/element-web/issues/16464 seems to be about this very issue, and has been closed as "completed" on 2022-05-07?! So maybe, this is not a feature request but a regression bug report? Or was this only about the web client?
I can't help with this but I came here to say that I also see this behavior with EXA
