Suggestion for how to make timeline jumping more bareable

What would you like to do?

When we click to select a message, the timeline moves to that point in it's history. Often, the view then jumps so you are no longer looking at that message.

At this point re-selecting the same message (for example clicking on the same pinned message or a link within another message) will not jump to that message because it's already selected.

I propose to ignore that check, and "re-jump" to the selected message even if we can't tell whether that will make any difference to the view.

Why would you like to do it?

Timeline jumping is really, really annoying, and it doesn't seem like it will quick to fix, but maybe this can make usability of the app better.

How would you like to achieve it?

I imagine there must be some check about not jumping to the currently selected message (since a workaround is to click different messages and "walk" to the desired message.) I am only proposing to ignore that check.

Have you considered any alternatives?

Fixing the jumping seems to be hard, maybe this is a simpler QOL fix.
