They indeed do the same thing, are just two homes for the same preference. Not sure why they have a different description
ok so why bloat up the app by having 2 options that do exactly the same thing?
i genuinely think having 2 options that do the exact same thing is bloat and even leaves room for confliction.
Easier for a user to find the option, best waiting for design to weigh in on the issue
so what if a user cant find it just copy and paste it in multiple places until they do find it? do you not see how this makes no sense at all? its completely unoptimal. can you not see how this bloats the application up? its unnecessary. personally i can find both options really easily, if anything having 2 options would be more confusing for end users. (especially since they arent 2 options its just 1 thing with 2 buttons and both those 2 buttons execute the same thing its genuinely pointless to have 2 of them)
turt even deleted some options people "never used" (even though i and like at least some people i knew did) so obviously the matrix community seems to at least acknowledge the concept of "bloat" and "minimal"
if anything, i would keep the one on the sidebar. it looks nicer, cleaner, and it makes more sense than the other option.
