Flickering timeline

Steps to reproduce

Video available of a private conversation, please DM to see it

  1. Join a room with visible history
  2. Scroll back
  3. See flickering in the timeline and be unable to scroll up beyond a specific point

Outcome

What did you expect?

Can see historical messages in the timeline

What happened instead?

Timeline flickers badly

@kittykat Is the timeline flickering just the display of messages or is it flickering between two different scroll positions?

Not sure if this is related, but I now have a room where I cannot scroll at all anymore. I can't go up to see the history and it also doesn't scroll to the bottom of the screen, so the last message hangs in the middle of the screen:

Closing and restarting Element fixes this particular problem
