Add a ring sound after adding the Jitsi Widget (Element Web)

Hey Guys,

#### What would you like to do?

• Adding a ring sound when add a Jitsi Widget in a Room.

#### Why would you like to do it?

• There isn´t a real good way to get notified, whenever someone in a room is starting a group call via Jitsi Widget. Sure, you can get a short desktop notification if you setup your notifications in your personal settings but it´s easy to miss.

#### How would you like to achieve it?

• I have no clue, im not a programmer :)

PS: This is the first time posting anything on this platform. If i did anything wrong let me know.

I hope the general problem is made clear.

@nadonomy having some kind of a notification doesn't actually sound bad, but we'd have to figure out how to make it so it's not problematic or disturbing users.

The problem is that we can't handle jitsi in the same exact way we do p2p calls, at least that's what I've learned very early when poked at Jitsi problems.

@daniellekirkwood @janogarcia assigning to you, it doesn't seem that designs for peer2peer are the same as for jitsi. Do we want to handle jitsi the same way as p2p calls? I don't think so personally, but I leave the final decision up to you. :)

I can see the value in some kind of notification, especially the toast style shown in the Figma referenced above. However this is something we're still looking into as part of the work on implementing the new Matrix native calling into Element, and I'd rather resolve it as part of that rather than duplicate the effort by adding a notification for the Jitsi widget. In the short-term, a user starting a Jitsi call can notify the room by using '@room'. I realise that is not quite as intrusive as a ringing sound, but that might be a good thing...

Hi, we just ran into this as well - on the phone I receive it as a call, on desktop it's just a subtle notification. What's the status on this issue?

We're slowly heading toward replacing Jitsi with Element Call which should hopefully provide a solution to this issue
