Can't interact with system data detected links because of reactions feature

Open daletman opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Steps to reproduce

Both problems are shown in the video below.

First problem

  1. Send a .m4a Audio File from Desktop Element
  2. Try to play the Audio in the iOS App

Second problem

iOS does create a Calendar Link, if the text has any time mentioned. These links are not clickable because of the reaction feature.

  1. Send a text with for example a date (20.09.2022)
  2. try to click the link iOS creates

Maybe reactions should only open with double tapping? Also tap and hold is not ideal because this way its not possible to simply copy a portion of a text message. There is currently no way to copy only a part of a text message. It's either all or nothing.

@daletman thanks for opening this issue.

The first example, is a separate bug. For some reason the audio player hasn't loaded the file yet (note the silent looking waveform), so tapping play won't do anything here.

The m4a bug isn’t exclusive to uploads from desktop. Android friend posted them from element but I’m on iOS and have the same problem as you.
