App Layout: Context Menus
Your use case
Update our context menus based on feedback received during the prototyping phase...
We received feedback over the last few weeks that the changing icons and content of the context menus doesn't match mental models of our users. There are also concerns about how the current grouping would scale in the future.
Therefore, we want to have the following menus and groupings:
- Profile icon (top-left) pertains to the user's actions
- User settings
- Invite friends
- Feedback
- Sign out
- Overflow (top-right) pertains to the options available given the screen that the user is in.
- On home: Show recents, filters, & sort by
- In a space/subspace: Space settings, members, leave etc. (this also sort-of matches the room options too)
- Space switching (bottom-left)
- Spaces bottom sheet
- Create/Compose (bottom-right) pertains to creating or adding something to the environment
- On home: Create room, start chat, explore rooms, create space
- In a space/subspace: Dependant on the users access levels, create subspace, explore rooms, add room etc.
@amshakal I think the Figma designs you have are clearer than the list I have created here, please could you link them?
I have updated all the context menus in the designs: Link
