Element freezes after startup and sometimes never recovers

Describe the bug

Soon after starting the Element app, it sometimes freezes and sometimes is able to recuperate/recover after a screen blink (sometimes not).

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Start element-desktop
2. Click on: doesn't matter

Expected behavior

Smooth running computer :) with element-desktop running

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• OS: Debian bookworm with up to date mate desktop environment

Additional context I wrote to support few weeks back on email published on element.io but received no answer

Hi @Stormfinger, to be able to determine the cause of this issue we will need more information. The next time you manage to get the app started, could you please submit logs from the 'Feedback' menu?

I checked info and log would send some information that is not really classified but I wouldn't like to share. Also note that I don't have a strong GPU in my system as I saw in somewhere there is kinda no GPU option. I'll try that first

yes ..thank you indeed it could be notification issue at least most of the time. sometimes I get freeze when running Firefox and browsing Facebook and I open Element but yes I can confirm sometimes it freezes on received message.

I have the same problem.

I have debian bookworm with i3 and dunst is running.

Right after the bullseye/bookworm migration, element desktop was able to launch, but now (3 days later) it won't start at all, it hangs indefinitely.

This happens on Windows too.
