Extremely Slow Performance

Steps to reproduce

1. Just launch the app.

Outcome

What happened instead?

1. The app is causing very high CPU usage and increasing the system load and causing the fan fan to spin loudly.
2. Every action in the app like moving between rooms, opening settings etc is very slow and takes few seconds to complete.
3. Disabling hardware acceleration enhances just a bit but still poor performance.
4. After couple of minutes of IDLE, CPU drops however when moving between rooms, it raises the CPU again.
5. Other electron apps works just fine on the same machine.
6. I to the same result when installing Element from APT or snap.

try installing the application as a flatpak (on flathub) instead, does it cause performance spikes?

It still cause performance spike when switching between rooms but overall performance a lot more smoother right after it's launched until the CPU load goes high then it becomes less responsive.

The flatpak version is slightly better.

This doesn't happen for me: if you can work out a way way can reproduce this then we may be able to look into it. Alternatively, you could try getting a performance profile out of developer tools which may help.

There are many errors and warnings, what exactly I should look into in the dev tools?
