matrix.to links make Ele Desktop blank out/reset

Description

I clicked on a matrix.to link. Ele Desktop came to the foreground but went completely blank. Then the UI resumed but the experience was that of just opening the client after having it shut down. Not an initial sync, just catching up. This happens about 40% of the time of clicking on a matrix.to link.

Steps to reproduce

• Open matrix.to link and go through the flow
• If it doesn't cause Ele Desktop to blank, go back to the browser, click the Change link (under the buttons in the screenshot), select Ele Desktop again and do it again

Describe how what happens differs from what you expected.

I don't expect my client to blank/reset. I expect it to jump to the convo in the room (I'm already in that room).

Sorry, in the browser. I came from a different GitHub issue which had a matrix.to link to a discussion.

Sounds like what I described here. In that situation, I went back to in the timeline by clicking on a quoted message. I did not report that, as after going back I can most of the time still do a bit - change to another room and back, for instance. But it might be relevant.| Element Desktop.
