Notifcations are not of the last message

Steps to reproduce

1. My phone makes the element notification sound
2. I look at my phone and see a popup of a very old message
3. I pull down the drop down menu
4. I view my multiple unread chats

Outcome

What did you expect?

When a notification comes in I see that notification

What happened instead?

An old notification is shown in the popup and the drop down list is not sorted in any meaningful way
