when an Audio/Video call is initiated in a room the Android client does not ring

Open alongls opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Steps to reproduce

  1. Where are you starting? What can you see? in a room with more than 2 participants when initiating an Audio or video call the Jitsi bridge is assigned and a conference call starts. in the Android App of the room participants no indication is received that a conference call was initiates. in the IOS App of the room participants a call ring is heard to indicate that a conference call was initiates.

  2. What do you click? Audio / Video call button

  3. More steps…

Outcome

What did you expect?

when initiating a call inside a room all participants of this room whether they have IOS or Android device should receive incoming call ring and when answered be placed inside the conference.

What happened instead?

Android users - get no notification that conference call was started IOS users - get (as should) notification that conference call was started

need to compare the Android and IOS behavior and make sure android users will receive notification when conference call is started.

@ouchadam It is reproducable every time, so dont understand the Ocassional tag. Is this bug being worked on anywhere?

rajil avatar Jul 23 '22 20:07 rajil

Okay I will try to explain the occasional tag, not everyone uses android and not everyone initiates calls with it. This means that not everyone is affected. This is not meant as the bug only happens sometimes, it is solely used to create a hierarchy of importance. For example a bug where rooms would bug out when sending a picture would be higher priority.

However this doesn't mean that the issue isn't taken seriously or that noone will ever work on it, it is simply categorizing for simpler workflow.
