Show who initiated a call in a DM
Your use case
What would you like to do?
Show who initiated a call in DM instead of always displaying the contact
Why would you like to do it?
- currently it looks like the other side has made the calls I made:

-
I would like to know who called like I want to know who wrote a message. From the UI perspective, this is only possible when the call was not successful, and in other cases only through comparing text differences in existing calls, see the complementary example in the following screenshot:

-
Consistency with Element web;

How would you like to achieve it?
Replace the existing contact name and avatar by the name and avatar of the person who called. Ideally make it less big such that it doesn't take up so much space like it does now (a bit related to #2290 even though there aren't any individual events shown anymore) Perhaps also rename "Call back" from the screenshot, because "call back" implies I was called.
Have you considered any alternatives?

While the designs aren't clear about whose avatar to show, I think the intention was to use the avatar of the person who started the call
Would be good to clarify - if it is intended that the avatar gives this information. Alternately we could have a set of icons: i.e.
- Outgoing missed
- Incoming missed
- Outgoing declined
- Incoming declined
- Etc
I've been confused by this as well and was thinking that a smaller modification could help as well, though I don't know how well it'll translate. "Call back" makes me think someone called me and I missed it. However "Call again" makes me know that it was me that called them and they didn't pick up.
So for the incoming calls missed or declined, I'd suggest using the "Call back" text. For outgoing calls that were missed or declined, I'd suggest the "Call again" text.
