Strangely when i build from mac (with wine), it just works fine.. wonder whats causing this

Similar situation, rcedit.exe has no effects on windows 7 64 bit;

I had the exact same issue than you with another exe file. I noticed MSVCP100.dll was missing from my System32 folder. It's been fixed after I installed https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=13523.

Is anyone still seeing this issue with 0.6.0 or later? There were fixes to address the dll issues.
