Add Youtube Video Showing How to Package and notarise mac os application

A Mega Mega Thank You for this; you have saved me tens and tens of hours of my life. Kudos to you.

Now, coming to the point. Today, I faced a big frustration. Actually, I wanted to sign and notarize my application, but all these resources assume you already know this stuff and are very confusing.

After a lot of trial and error, I managed to get the app signing and notarization working. However, I know many developers share this frustration, and more will face it in the future.

To help them, I’m planning to create a YouTube video that walks through the entire process of signing and notarizing an application — in simple, baby steps.

If you could add this video to the Electron React Boilerplate packaging section, it would be incredibly helpful for countless developers. All it would take is a single line in the docs, but I guarantee that line will save many people from frustration.

Note:

  • You can upload it on your own YouTube channel, and the video will be faceless as well (I am simply not after the name).

Signing and notarizing an app with Electron React Boilerplate is still confusing. It has a custom notarize.js script and I encounter issues at various stages. The farthest I got was signing and notarizing the app, but stapling failed with error.

Could not find base64 encoded ticket in response for 2/b8bc188025de0c1ea66c86a40efa314d84 The staple and validate action failed! Error 65.

It’s frustrating to figure out. A video tutorial on the signing process using Electron React Boilerplate would be greatly appreciated.
