This is MVP, which I personally use. If the community like such idea, I would be glad to implement such a feature for other credential files managed by this role.
LGTM, would it be possible to merge it?
I looked at test, they don't test plugin installation, only verify syntax of tasks. It would be nice to modify test in such way they do not skip these tasks.

Module you mentioned supports update & uninstall according to docs https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/modules/grafana_plugin_module.html. Do you want help with refactoring this part of role?
