Opensearch configurer does not always print error messages.

Describe the bug Opensearch configurer recently crashed without any error message. I just got:

OpenSearch Dashboards is ready

Setting up OpenSearch Dashboards

Registering S3 snapshot repository

Creating index templates
Creating index template from file 'authlog.template.json'

One of the opensearch pods did not have a running opensearch process, which is why I think this failed.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Put opensearch in a bad state (a bit unclear what is needed here)
2. Start opensearch configurer
3. Wait for it to crash
4. Check the configurer logs

Expected behavior Some helpful error message that indicates what was wrong.
