Kibana 7.6.0 Metrics/Infra Auto-Refresh Values Oscillating to Zero and Back

Open patrickmhoge opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

Kibana version: 7.6.0

Elasticsearch version: 7.6.0

Server OS version: CentOS 7.7.1908

Browser version: Chrome 79.0.3945.88

Browser OS version: Windows 10

Original install method (e.g. download page, yum, from source, etc.): yum install of Kibana RPM

Describe the bug: In the Infra/Metrics application, when Auto-Refresh is enabled, the stats in both the "Map View" and "Table View" seem to oscillate between 0 and the correct value at each refresh. For example, system load metric might be at 2.9 and then the page will auto refresh and that metric will go to 0, then the next refresh it will go back to 2.9. This isn't occuring for all hosts reporting in via Metricbeat, but most (some appear to be refreshing just fine).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Elasticsearch and Kibana 7.6.0.
  2. Install Metricbeat 7.6.0 and send to Elasticsearch.
  3. Go to Infra/Metrics app in Kibana.
  4. Enable Auto-Refresh.

Expected behavior: Stats should refresh correctly and not go to zero at every other refresh.

Prioritising low - we're unlikely to invest in Inventory in the short/medium-term
