Change token on prepends and appends from shaded to plain
Problem Statement
As part of a larger effort for a new, modernizen design, we are decreasing the use of shaded elements in our product UI. Prepends and appends contribute to a sense of visual noise and outdated look.
Proposed Solution
Remove the shading / use a plain color token that matches the value input (see below).
Use Case
Form inputs and input controls. Prime examples include both the Discover and Dashboard UIs. This is example is not final, but we would like to start iterating on elements of this direction.
Urgency
We have been tasked with updating the Discover and Dashboard applications, in particular, and have related redesign efforts moving toward a POC for the Sidebar / new chrome project.
Do alternatives or workarounds exist?
Custom style overrides may be possible.
@ryankeairns Would you like us to prioritize this work? Or is this something you are tracking / planning to do? If it is the former, when would you like us to do this?
Its a line item on the set of working coming down the pike: https://github.com/elastic/platform-ux-team/issues/902
Let's discuss when we meet this week. Stakeholder review on the new UI design POC will take place later this week / next week.
