[waffle] Hermann grid illusion is present on waffles

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. We have a Hermann grid illusion happening in the new waffle visualizations. Can make you feel a bit dizzy to look at them

You can reduce the bright areas further by removing rounded corners at intersections. This practically eliminates the illusion
