Improve ticks formatting/count for Log scale

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Currently, setting Axis.ticks in for an AreaSeries doesn’t seem to work if the axis scale is log. It works as expected if the scale is linear.

For example, the following are with the y axis.ticks = 5. Top is linear scale and bottom is log scale.

As such, it would be good to be able to either set the approximate tick counts or have a better way to show the labels without all of them look overcrowded

Also need to find a way to account for precision in formatting...

Also avoid rendering 0 label when value is not actually 0 but 0.001
