A lot of videos (temporarily) freeze at start while the audio is playing correctly
When I scroll through a site with auto-playing AV1 videos (e.g. 9Gag), I have a strange effect:
Around 50% of all videos have a frozen image at the start, while the audio is playing correctly. Then, after 5 to 10 seconds, the video suddenly kicks in and the video plays normally till the end. And it's not consistent: Sometimes e.g. video A plays correctly and video B has the freeze effect. Then after a page reload video A freezes and video B plays correctly. When I disable the hardware decoding, all is running normally (no freeze).
I'm using v0.0.13 with Firefox 137.0.1 and a RTX 3050 on Linux Mint 22.1
May have nothing to do with it, but Firefox outputs this a lot:

I'm getting the same error on youtube, RTX 3080ti, same driver and firefox versions, but I don't have any videos freezing.

Here is the log (while I was scrolling through the site and some videos were delayed):
I tried to solve it by:
- using an older version (0.0.11, 0.0.12)
- lowering the screen resolution
- using an older nvidia driver (e.g. 535 instead 550)
But the described freezing persists. I don't know what else I can try.
I updated the NVidia driver from 550 to 570. I also tried to use kernel 6.11 instead of 6.8. Sadly the problem persists. I'm out of ideas.
I have also experienced this for some time now. It doesn't necessarily happen on the beginning of the video, but rather on playback start when the driver is initialized, as Firefox seems to kill the decoder pretty fast after you pause a video. It seems to be completely random, a specific video may or may not trigger it, there's no consistency to it whatsoever it seems. ~~From my very limited testing though, I could only reproduce it with a 4K video, but I am not sure if I just got unlucky or not~~ Never mind, just had it happen on a 1080p video.
Most videos also experience significant frame drops at the beginning of playback, for anywhere from 5-15 seconds, after that the playback is smooth. The freeze seems to happen during this period of frame drops at the beginning of playback, if it happens.
Running GTX 1080 Ti with Firefox 138.0.4 on Arch Linux, latest drivers (570.144), with current master (https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver/commit/effa3af05da4525d850a525ae2dedf5eb80351d7). I have also disabled AV1 playback from Firefox (media.av1.enabled=false in about:config) as my GPU does not support AV1 decoding anyway.
