High cpu/power use when neither playing or downloading

I've noticed that iSub sometimes tends to stay "active" and consume a decent amount of CPU/battery even when it shouldn't be doing anything (not playing, not downloading). I've verified for sure that the high battery drain is iSub's fault using the Battery report in iPhone settings.

Usually when it happens it is because I've gotten the "Server offline, would you like to switch to offline mode?" popup confirmation box, but since I was ok with the music stopping, I never unlocked my phone to see and dismiss it, and iSub stays active. When this happens it can eat about 10% of my battery an hour, which ends up draining the phone almost completely overnight.

I have seen a few times when it had the same behavior when it wasn't due to the "Server offline" popup, and I believe those were related to iSub somehow still thinking it is playing even when it is not, because the lock-screen player controls continue to show the pause button (rather than the play button) even though nothing is playing.
