Broken thick arrow ligatures (=>, ==> etc) in Kitty

Downloaded font from the website (version 1.143) and enabled ss02 in Kitty. Thin arrows (->, -->) work fine, but anything with equal signs (=>, ==>) is broken as shown below.

Same with the pre-customized version of the font:

The browser renders the fonts fine:
