"New Folder" button does nothing

Open SolomonSklash opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

Clicking the "New Folder" button under both Targets and Libraries does not create a new folder, nor does it do anything else.

Running the Linux appimage on the latest Kali Linux.

Confirm me this flow, right click on target/folder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1fqdGwNw1A

If restarting app didn't resolve this, I will try to reproduce this on Kali Linux.

Ok, so it's more of a UX issue for me. I thought where it says "New Folder" is a button, rather than the name of the actual newly created folder itself. The way the it turns red when hovered over, similar to the + symbol for creating new libraries or targets, threw me off.

So not actually a technical issue.

haha :-) got it...

Would you suggest any UX changes for this?

I would suggest not making the new folder turn red, like the + button does, or perhaps change it to a different color. As is, I keep thinking it's the New Folder button, rather than just a new folder. I think making the text selected/highlighted, indicating it is waiting to be renamed, could help too. I was considering opening an enhancement for that as well, when selecting the rename option. The current cursor that appears is rather subtle and easy to miss.

It was initially designed as this however, we later changed it to the current version. 😆

Let me try to tweak on design files if I could come up with any enhancement. Will update on this thread shortly..
