this shortcut shift + alt is a very bad choice for Windows users since it can switch the keyboard layout among the different languages declared in language bar : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/switch-between-languages-using-the-language-bar-1c2242c0-fe15-4bc3-99bc-535de6f4f258), so for example, on a Windows set to french, switching between french with azerty keyboard layout to english with qwerty keyboard layout, many users may not be aware of that and suddenly their keyboard will send the wrong key (Q instead of A, W instead of Z etc), even if user is aware about that, not perfect to check we currently are on the wrong language / keyboard layout because of our actions in Thorium.

You need to use Windows OS and have multiple languages in your language bar so this ALT + SHIFT shortcut will switch between these different language + keyboard layout entries. https://winaero.com/enable-language-bar-windows-10/

I guess any Windows that are not using English as default language have this default settings with :

  • first language and keyboard layout they use daily like chosen during Windows installation or initial setup, example : French language and AZERTY keyboard layout
  • seconde language and keyboard : US English and QWERTY keyboard layout.

May be are you already using a qwerty keyboard layout without a second keyboard layout defined in the Windows language bar settings so this SHIFT + ALT shortcut do not have any effect with your configuration but for multiple non english users it will be like explained.
