Updated your excel spreadheet
Hi,
I have changed your excellent motor torque spreadsheet with some useful changes. I have added a field called microsteps which calculates the reduced torque-speed charts for each motor based upon Torque decrease factor = sin(90/microsteps). Also, I have added the XY motor resolution for both 0.9 Deg and 1.8 Deg motors which is calculated based on the microsteps. Often people use very high microsteps up to 256 in order to smooth out movement and reduce noise. However, as you know this can significantly reduce a stepper motors torque and I wanted to get an indication of the worst case scenario for the amount of torque loss. This can then be used to select an appropriate microstep with appropriate XY resolution and with speed/acceleration which will avoid layer shift due to lost steps. It isn't perfect and may even be too conservative but at least it is better than assuming all the Torque is available which is based on single step (1 microstep). Attached is my amended spreadsheet - your feedback/comments are most appreciated.
