Windows + matplotib doesn't work inside virtualenv

I think this is just Windows 7 & XP, not sure if it affects 8. matplotlib will not run correctly within a virtualenv (see virtualenv ticket).

Not sure if the GUI tutorial would error out since it's basically tcl/tk issue.

Should add workaround instructions sound here and here
